chance to see its three internationally acclaimed model railroad sets
in action. Kids 12 and under free; adults $5. Santa will be holding
court downstairs at Dandelions; Village Books will host readings by
children's author Mary DePalma; and stores and restaurants throughout
the Village will open their doors during the afternoon for holiday

MBTA Substation Development Proposals Presented
For six years, RVMS has been the lead advocate for redevelopment of
the vacant brick substation at Washington Street and Cummins Highway.
In November, developers presented three different plans for this grand
neighborhood landmark. Which one is the best for Roslindale? Click
here for a short review
of the proposals by Main Street's Economic Development committee.

New Building Proposed for Abandoned Gas Station on Washington Street
Last month, a developer shared plans with the community for the gas
station property next to the library: a retail and commercial building
that will fill the biggest empty hole in Roslindale Village. The
Social Security Administration would occupy the second floor, with
retail at ground level and offices on the third floor. The plan was
well received by the community; click here to read a Globe article on
the project.
Taste of Roslindale a Major Success
Thanks to everyone who made the 2nd Annual Taste of Roslindale a huge success this year! Together we raised over $15,000 toward local charities and the Roslindale Holiday Lighting fund. Look for the first stage of holiday street decorations throughout Roslindale Village later this month.
