Incorporated in 1764, Lyndeborough is a small country village, known for its famous Lyndeborough Glass Factory which operated in the 1800s. Today, Lyndeborough is a rural bedroom community and is not known for having a large amount of industry.
The main village is located in the southern part of town on Route 31 and consists of the elementary school, the post office, the public library, the fire

station, a village store, a church and Citizens Hall which holds the Lyndeborough Town Offices. Old Lydeborough Center is located a few miles away on Center Road and is the site of the old Town Hall (now used on voting day and for meetings and social gatherings), the old town pound and the former Congregational Church.
Accessed from the north and south by State Route 31, the town is geographically separated by a ridge of mountains which are part of the Pack Monadnock Range. One of the town’s most beautiful natural features is Purgatory Falls, a scenic area with walking trails and a spectacular 25 foot waterfall on the Lyndeborough/Mont Vernon town line.

Students attend the Lyndeborough Village School (grades 1-6) and the Wilton Lyndeborough Cooperative Junior-Senior High School (grades 7-12) in Wilton.
