The Home

This home has been designed to provide a peaceful environment where any number of activities are optimized: entertain in the connected large kitchen area, breakfast nook and dining room, play games in the lower level family room, get some work done in the wood-paneled office, or escape to the roof-top deck. Whatever your choice, this house does not fail to delight.

The paved driveway circles around and under the Porte-Cochere, which is built out of massive beams and uniquely designed columns. For parties at night, it offers a dramatic approach with rope lighting providing a rosy glow for the entry to the house. The massive front door has also been designed in classic Arts & Crafts style.

First Level

First LevelBeyond the home’s elegant threshold, the foyer offers a dramatic two-story introduction to the house. The Living Room windows frame stunning bay views as sunlight floods the room, copper in-lay and highly detailed wood draw your attention.

A wooden archway leading into the living room entices you to relax beside the floor-ceiling windows that stretch the entire length of the house. This room showcases your media center and fireplace - a perfect place for Friday night family movies. This versatile room is the entertainment hub of the home - perfect both for parties and family time and offers two doors leading to the first level deck to enjoy the dramatic water views.

Moving beyond the sitting area into the Dining Room reveals cozy seating for ten, custom chandeliers, and more Bay views. The room is served by pass-through service from the kitchen, and features a wine fridge and built-in cabinetry.

Walk to the other side of the first floor past the door for the 4-floor elevator to the custom wood-paneled study. The study is replete with wood fireplace, has great views of the garden through one set of windows, and Plymouth Bay through the other. It also contains a full wet bar and sink, with a beer fridge for those long conference calls. The unique wood-working with copper in-lays provides an exclusive touch. The study adjoins a richly finished guest bathroom with custom fixtures and shower, perfect for guests.

The kitchen is a breathtaking design. The spacious granite island makes prepping dinner parties a breeze and is an appealing spot for an informal family dinner. It rests grandly between the Wolf dual gas range and custom fireplace. The fireplace warms a winter seating area, and is an ideal spot to shake the chill of a frosty New England day. The kitchen features more custom cabinetry, custom stone work, and Sub Zero Refrigerator and Freezer, including two unique custom built-in spice racks, a warming drawer, microwave, two dishwashers, and over-sized sink. A Tuscan tile backsplash with copper in-lay and a stove-top faucet add to the beauty and utility of this room. A cozy morning room alongside the kitchen offers views of the backyard through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

The walk-in pantry provides floor-ceiling custom built-in storage for all of your cooking supplies. Beyond the pantry is a mud-room with generous closet space and a half bathroom. The back door leads to an outdoor extension of the kitchen - a covered grill area. A protected walkway meanders past the heated shower enclosure, perfect for washing away the sand after a day at the beach and on to the 3-car garage.

Second Level

Second LevelWalk up the flight of stairs that overlook the foyer area to the second floor balcony. This wide balcony connects the three bedrooms on the second floor. The balcony overlooks the foyer, and also has a window-seat reading area, and an elevator entrance conveniently located near two of the bedrooms.

Middle Bedroom

Middle BedroomStraight ahead from the top of the stairs is the middle bedroom, with great views out over the bay, a sliding door leading to the second story deck, and its own full bathroom. Ample closet space completes the room. The room contains the same level of detail as the rest of the house, with custom inlaid wood door frames.

End Bedroom
“The Tree House”

The Tree HouseAt the end of the balcony area, past the elevator door , unique curved wall, and reading area is the bedroom playfully dubbed the Tree House. It is so named due to the exposed wooden truss structure, and due to the tree-top views from the room. The exposed beams also contain a rope lighting system that is used on a nightly basis as it gives a gentle glow to the room with dramatic effect, and serves as a night-light. The full bathroom (as does the bedroom) has a view of the bay, and has been playfully finished with sea-glass accents in the tiles. This room also has direct access to the second floor balcony.

Master Bedroom Suite

Master BedroomAt the other end of the balcony, behind a privacy door, is the massive Master Suite. The wall curves around to present a grand entrance to the master bed room. Straight ahead though massive floor-ceiling custom windows, one views the bay as well as surrounding trees from a dramatic height. The baseboard heating in this room has been ingeniously hidden behind a custom designed wood and copper antique-design feature. The room also accesses the second floor balcony.

As it is currently set up, the room has a large sleeping area to the left under more windows. Also to the left is a sitting area / reading nook. Across the room, a craft area has also been implemented, next to the large flat-screen TV and couch viewing area. This area currently serves as a cozy TV/Movie spot for a family of four.

Also in the suite are his and hers walk-in closets. These feature custom-designed floor-ceiling hanging space as well as built-in shelves and storage.

And at the end of the Master Suite, through a double door, is the massive bathroom. The bathroom contains a large oval tub, which amazingly also has either water views or tree and garden views. The room features a chandelier over the tub, which also comes equipped with a high-tech jet and water lighting system for late-night soaks. The His and Hers counter space is finished with rare stone, and features all high-end fixtures and built-in storage. The large shower with custom tile, rain-forest water head complemented by 3 in-wall sprayers, bench and built in shelf rounds out the room.

Both the bathroom and the master bedroom feature Lutron automated shades for easily facilitating the extensive sun-light and views that the rooms afford.

Roof-top Deck

Roof top deckAscending to the roof-top deck is a cinch in the elevator from any of the other 3 floors. This level offers the most dramatic views of Plymouth Harbor and Bay. This deck, as well as the deck on the second floor, have been designed with a special-purpose glass barrier that allows the full impact of the view to all guests while seated (and keeping everyone safe!). It has to be seen to be believed. The deck currently features a large outdoor couch lounge area, with room for 8-10 to easily enjoy the exclusive view of the bay and tree tops. Hawks often perch on a neighboring tree, adding to the allure. Future plans for this deck include a full wet bar and service area. This area is entirely unique and loads of fun.

Lower Level

Lower LevelDescending by elevator or stair, it is clear that calling this a basement would be simply insulting! The stairs lead down to a wide stone-tiled hallway which leads directly to what is planned to be a media room.

The hallway passes by a wine cellar finished with a locally crafted cellar capable of holding 180 bottles, with additional storage below. The wine cellar has been finished with special stone tile, and exudes old-world rustic charm.

Across the hallway is the planned location for a sauna. The sauna heater resides here now, and awaits the finishing touches.

At the end of the hallway, and containing the lower level elevator door, is the media room. The currently unfinished room awaits the new owner’s final touch, and offers a full capacity for multiple rows of chairs or couches, and can provide an immersive A/V experience. The room also contains all of the wiring for the house, as each room has been wired for speakers, flat panel, and wall panel locations.

At one end of the hallway, a full guest suite awaits. Pass through the richly finished full bath room into the guest suite seating area, replete with fireplace, hearth, and windows looking out to sunshine and up to the back yard. The room contains enough room for visitors to comfortably live for extended periods of time and enjoy their privacy. It is comfortable and currently enjoys the nickname of “The B&B” from its owners and their guests.

At the other end of the hallway is a large wash room, and past it a massive recreation room. This room features two separate areas. The first is a full fitness area, currently containing a treadmill, bike trainer, Pilates reformer exercise equipment, and TV. The more kid-friendly section of the room is big enough for just about anything. It currently houses a large air hockey table, large seating area that hosts various Wii competitions, a Lego building station, basketball game, and room to lounge in front of the large fireplace. This room is perfect for lounging and playing on a rainy day with the family, as it has served well in this regard.

Garage

GarageConnected to the house by a covered walk way also finished in the same style as the remainder of the house is the garage. The garage features parking for three cars in two bays. What is truly unique about the garage is that it will allow for a full finished living space above the garage, has plumbing and a water heater (currently serving the outdoor shower), and could be added to “the B&B” to offer more long-term guest space, or an additional recreation room.

Exterior

ExteriorThe elegant driveway advances toward the home, circling beneath a striking Porte-Cochere, formed with massive beams and uniquely designed columns. In the evening, rope lighting offers a dramatically lit approach, casting a rosy glow upon entry to the home. In keeping with the style of this unique home, a grand front door is similarly designed in classic Arts & Crafts style. This home is designed to provide a peaceful sanctuary to enjoy any number of activities. Entertain in the open chef’s kitchen dining room and morning room, play games in the lower level family room, get some work done in the wood-paneled office, or escape to the roof-top deck. Whatever your mood, this house will not fail to delight.

In Summary

This house was creatively designed and carefully built in artisan fashion with great attention to detail. It is one of the few, Arts & Crafts homes in the South Shore area, and is truly unique. The living spaces flow seamlessly together, making it very livable, with many engaging areas. The list of extras is extensive. Simply put, there is nothing like this home around. It must be seen to be believed, and awaits one lucky owner!
