AARO, MIKAEL E-Mail: Mikael.Aaro@gmail.com Björkgatan 15city, state, zip: : 973 31 Luleå, Sweden PH: +46 8 505 930 12 I was one of the three exchange students of BHS, class of '73. I still have very strong memories of this eventful year! I liked it a lot! "It was different". The only sad part was parting with my family, the Harris family of Olympia drive and of course the BHS, in the late summer of 1973. Back in the old country, Sweden, I finished my schools, went to university and studied Mech.Eng. in with major in Economics. I did not have the time to finish my exam (MS), some tests left, since I have been running my own business firm since 1975... I own and run a engineering firm that develops, builds and maintains fourstroke racing engines as well as building race cars. I have had up to five people hired. A little less now. Since 1983 I am living with my fiancie Vailet. Sorry, no kids of my own but a lot of German Shepherds... Vailet has a daughter of 25 years, I almost forgot... No grandkid's, yet......We live in the north of Sweden in a town named Lulee, just on the south side (and shore) of the Lulee river in our own house and with my business premises in the neigboring house. I just found this site and I am very sorry not being aware of the reunion this passed summer! Maybe the 30th? I very much woud like to get in contact with all the people I met with during my very rewarding stay in Bettendorf! I wonder if the 3 teachers listed under staff are the only remaining from '73? My "accomplishments": How very much American...Maybe the business I built from scratch? I really don't think it is up to me to list my lifedoings? My sparetime: Well, since I am an entrepreneur my own sparetime is quite limited... I read a lot. I am very interested in ancient and modern survival techniques. [Feb 2004] August '02 my daughter Nikole was born, my first child ever at 47years of age; quite new experience of life! As well as bringing her up!

Spent a short period of time with Ford Motor in Detroit. They forced me into retirement after 2 years. This allowed me to attend a computer trade school. I have been in the computer industry ever since. 10 years with Carterfone, 9 years with SynOptics, 1 year with 3Com and NetScout. Married to a gal named Cheryl from Chicago. Kids: 1 boy, Clifford. I knew I was getting old when he started beating me in video games. Currently working at Lucent Technologies playing with software. Primary focus is on Application Performance Management. Ask me later and I will tell you what that means. Accomplishments: My Christian walk, an enjoyable marriage, a family that supports me and good health! Enjoy karting as a family sport. Thirty years in summary...I graduated from Texas Christian University in1977 with a BS in Foods & Nutrition and in 1991 from St. Ambrose Universitywith an MBA. Currently, I am a healthcare services manager for ThomsProestler Co., which is where I have worked for the past 15 years. As a registered Dietitian I am actively involved with the state and local dietetic associations. I was honored by IDA in 1982 as Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year, in 1999 as Recognized Outstanding Dietitian of the Year and in 2003 I was honored with the Medallion Award for my professional involvement and commitment to dietetics. Jeff and I are kept busy with two 13 year olds. They will both enter Pleasant Valley High School in the Fall. (I cheer for Bettendorf when the two teams meet!) Jana is involved with volleyball and Zach particpates in football, basketball and baseball. I still enjoy golfing, when time permits, and this year I decided to train for a triathlon. I participated in my first one mid-winter and placed second in my age group. I have also had to spend time perfecting my swimming skills. In April 2003 I participated in the Iowa Masters Swimming Championships and left as the State Champion for 50 yd. breast stroke. Thirty years have passed so quickly. I hope to see many of you at our 30th reunion.

I'm in marketing research and the retailing business and have been since 1977 and have worked most of the positions in that field. We live in a 3-bedroom home in a residential area in Kokomo, IN. Unfortunately, due to a childhood injury to my spine, I was unable to have children, but have helped in the support of my brother in-laws family of 5 children, whom we have donated our computer and other items to help in the advancement of children. We lived in Michigan for 12 years where my husband worked as a chiropractor and did various other sales positions. Upon leaving Michigan we donated many our our things to libraries, churches and state related facilities for under priviledged people. We also have a sideline in home improvement and remodeling during the summer and fall months. Basically, we're keeping America beautiful anywhere we can. Wish I could hear all the stories and see all the changes in my class of '73.

DAHL, CINDY (MARTENS) 1209 12th Avenue, Orion, IL 61273 PH: (309)526-3724 Hi everyone. Just a little update - I've been married since 1990 to a wonderful guy, Marty. I finally - after all these years went back to school and earned an associates degree in Culinary Arts. Did it more for the fun of it, not really a career. Was fun graduating - with honors - something I never did in high school. My 2 sons are now, 29 and 26 and they are both married and I have 6 grandchildren. My husband has another 3 grandchildren and another on the way. So really our lives are fulfilled with kids. We've had custody of his 11 year old granddaughter since she was 2, so we've had interesting times with that. Not exactly what he thought retirement would be about. But that's ok with us as we wouldn't trade it for anything. I currently work at the elementary school - where else? - in the kitchen. Not really working with my degree, but I love working part time and having my summers off. I am also a girl scout leader and last year had 21 5th graders. I also do lots of volunteering, whether it be in our small town, at school, with scouts, anything. That is what life is all about. Having fun and that's what I am doing. Take care everyone!!

DAHL, DEBBIE (MARX) Send me an Instant MessagePHOTOS 1604 W. Indiana St., Bloomington IL 61701 PH: (309) 829-3568 Newest news (8/99) - I'm going to be a grandma in Sept. I'm really excited. I bet no one thought I'd make it this far. Keep in touch anyone and everyone. Debby and Terry have been married for 21 years. They have 3 children, one of who was married on June 13. Debbie babysits during the day for a 2 year old girl. She has been taking voice lessons for a year or so, and done volunteer work as well as working at Illinois State University. She looks forward to short trips to many different places and is looking forward to seeing you all. 5/2000: All of my kids have graduated high school; my middle child got married and I am a grandma of the prettiest granddaughter in all the world. I am still going strong believe it or not. Hope to be there at the 30th. Can someone e-mail me with the whereabouts of Gary Derby? Would appreciate it. (June 2002): I'm still married to Terry Marx - we are celebrating our 25th anniversary on July 2, 2002. As of June 6th I have two grandkids - Kaity and Darrell. I also have two more coming sometime in late Aug or Sept. I now try to work with the empty nest and reconnecting with my husband. I spend most of my spare time now going to antique places, church and spending time with grandkids. Life has been good. [February 2003] I have been married 25 years as of July 2, 2002. Have been busy babysitting for 3 of my 4 grandchildren. I lead a pretty quiet lift overall. Still relatively healthy even though I will by 50 in Jan of 2004. Still walk with braces and crutches which I've been told is quite unusual for my age. I am overall very happy and content.

DAVIS, KERRY (FLICK) E-Mail: kdflick77@hotmail.com 4003 Elm St., Bettendorf, IA 52722 PH: (319) 359-8559 Kerry and Leland have 2 daughters - (Brookanne- 14) + (Annalee- 11). She was an independent writer/ marketing consultant for her own business The Worsmith, which she established in 1991. It provides copywriting, marketing + advertising services in the QC Area. Her acheivement was listed as QC Advertising Federation Awards in '86, '87, '91, & '92. [June 2003] My husband and I continue to live the Quad Cities raising two daughters, Brookanne (19) and Annalee (16). Brook just completed her first year at U of Iowa. That was quite an experience! Nothing makes you contemplate the next twenty years of your life like sending a child off into the Big World. As for what I've been doing for the last three decades, I've mostly been engaged in establishing my career. I began by working in radio (copywriter/producer) and television (marketing director for KWQC-TV). From there I entered grad school at U of Iowa for 1-1/2 years where I studied journalism/mass communication with an emphasis in health communication. I left grad school and started my own healthcare marketing and communications agency (Wordsmithe Communications), running it for 10 years. Three years ago I accepted my present position at Advanced Radiology Diagnostic Centers, Moline, IL as director of marketing and communications. I work for 14 radiologists and conduct all the marketing, advertising, PR, and educational activities. I enjoy all the busy, chaotic diversity it offers. After nearly 4 years of graduate study (nights and weekends!) I graduated May 9, 2003 with a master's degree in Community Health and Health Education from Western Illinois University. I'm looking forward to any new opportunities the degree may offer. While career and education have kept me very busy, on a more personal level, I enjoy free time with family and friends. As I have more spare time, I'm looking foward to traveling more and exploring more opportunities for fun. When I have "me time" I enjoy reading, writing, photography, biking, jewelry-making and sculpting. I've been thinking a lot about all my classmates and hope many of you will return for the big 3-0. For my friends who cannot attend, please drop me an e-mail and say hello. I will do the same. I look forward to seeing all of you June 14!

I later studied with Lou Harrision, the modern California composer best known for successfully combining music of the west with Asian music. After receiving a few minor grants and commissions, and having my music performed throughout the U.S. and in Russia and China, I was invited to be part of a music delegation that went to China and Kazakhstan to study minority music. There I met a wonderful pipa (lute) player named Gao Hong. After she played for me, I asked her if she would ever like to come to the U.S. for a tour. She immediately said "yes" and I spent the next 18 months arranging a ten-city tour for her. During the process, we fell in love, and married in 1994 after her tour. My focus then changed to establishing a performance and composing career for her in the U.S. (the results can be seen at www.chinesepipa.com) and orchestrating and arranging her compositions. We have a gorgeous five year-old daughter named Alida, who was diagnosed with ALL leukemia in April of 2005. She is expected to fully recover after 26 months of chemotherapy, and is much braver (and smater) than her daddy. I work for the non-profit organization International Friendship Through the Performing Arts, which books, commissions, and presents musicians from a variety of cultures.

DROBNY, DANA PHOTOS E-mail: danadrobny@yahoo.com PO Box 968, Santa Barbara, CA 93102 PH: 805-453-2998 So sorry I've missed all the reunions! I worked for the Iowa Arts Council and then the University of Iowa before heading east to teach at the University of New Hampshire (writing and women's studies). From there, I spent the most magnificent twelve years on staff of the SYDA Foundation in New York, India, and other inspiring places where I was able to help offer meditation programs and study with my meditation teacher. This remains my heart's highest ambition! The last three years I was in the Bay area doing various training gigs - ending up being in charge of a new hire orientation for a high tech company (I'm still almost computer illiterate!) planning to go from 200-20,000 employees in 5 years... Instead, they went from 200-12,000 in less than a year, and I happily re-located to beautiful Santa Barbara where I'm now working with Jack Canfield (Chicken Soup for the Soul) and planning to get my own business off the ground. While I seldom get back to Iowa, it still remains dear to my heart, and I'm looking forward to returning this summer for my parents' 50th! Love and blessings to all! Bio [February 2003] I am Jack Canfield's Assistant and Chicken Soup for the Soul, facilitating trainings on his book "The Power of Focus" and teaching my own courses called "Writing Your Life into Being" and "The Power of Intention". Most excited about new business I got into with Jack just a few months ago. Planning to come to my first reunion in JUNE! Can hardly wait to see everyone! [May 2004] Just started my own business KindMind and am delighted to be coming to Des Moines to offer two workshops in June 2004: Writing Your Life into Being and Creating Intention.

FORSYTHE, MELANIE (MULVANIA) E-Mail: mmulvania@aol.com 3912 Oakshire Rd, Des Moines, Iowa PH: 515-279-3306 Still in DesMoines, engaged to the man I moved up here with. Youngest daughter joined the Army, her husband just finished his second tour in Afghanistan, so grandson is living with us for a short time, will be taking him to Italy to live with daddy in a few weeks. Guess I should try to grow old gracefully, but anyone that knows me, knows that grace isn't one of my strong points. Just got the car of my dreams, another Mustang, not quite as nice as the 70 that I had in high school, but, it will do. I get back to the Quad Cities every couple of months, can't believe how it has changed. But then,, so have we. We're not getting older, we're getting better!!!

FOWLER, TIM (From Don Wheelock, 6/2002) I notice that you don't have any information on Timothy B. Fowler. Tim and I stayed in touch for about 10 years after graduation, visiting each other from time to time. Not too long after graduation, I ran into Tim in California as he attended the University of San Francisco. He had traded the Chevy station wagon in for Mustang convertible and his beard was almost as long as his hair. On one of my visits with Tim, I remember going to Berkley and attending a Bonnie Raite/Randy Newman concert at the Greek. Tim later moved to Pleasanton, CA and joined his father in Fremont, California selling and servicing Vermeer heavy equipment. In 1979 Tim, bored with heavy equipment, moved down to San Diego and stayed on my sailboat (anchored in San Diego Bay) with me and my soon to be wife for six months. He joined us when we moved off the boat in 1980 (at my wife's insistence) into an apartment for about a year. When I moved to Texas, he headed up to Pocatello, Idaho and attended Idaho State University for a couple of years. This is where I lost track of him. I believe he now lives in or around Washington, D.C. and is an analyst/statistician at the U.S. Bureau of the Census. I might be able to get in touch of him through my sister.

She also likes to slip away to the Caribbean for a little scuba diving action every chance that presents itself. She says a special "HELLO" to her former classmates who lived in the neighborhood around Valley Vista. She still has fond memories of ice skating on the pond and crowding into the warming house. She loves her job and her 700 kids. Although she has been fortunate to receive several awards: The Golden Apple Teacher Recognition Award and the Who's Who Among Teachers Award, it's the smiles and hugs from her students that she cherishes the most. She hasn't found "Mr. Wonderful" yet but is still looking and always hopeful. She does have two wonderful nephews and a wonderful niece that she loves dearly and who help keep her young in heart and spirit. She has traveled a lot and tries to run 5 miles a day (which she hates, but does anyway), and spends the rest of her life trying to tackle life's little ups and downs and enjoying the day.

I love my job just wish it payed more. I'm involved in technology and outdoor enviornmental education at my school as I chair both committees. Those are two of my passions. I love working with children they are just the best start to the day and the best way to end the day. Parenting the hardest thing.... my daughter Lynnsey went off to her freshman year at Oklahoma State University. I wasn't quite prepared for the void this would leave in my life. My son Elliot (8th grade) and I have had quite an adjustment dealing with this. You know you raise them, love them, teach them, nurture them, etc and then you have to be prepared to let them go. I am happy to report she is doing great on her first test flight out of the nest! Ok enough on that . I'll survive right? So I hang out in Bixby OK ( a suburb of Tulsa) with my son my two dogs, and one cat. I hope to come to this reunion it would be great to see everyone.

Gary graduated from St. Ambrose in 1977. His first job out of college was as a manager of Mr. Steak in Davenport. They recently bought a second house on a lake, and are in the process of renting it out. It is a big step for them. He'd say his biggest accomplishment has been raising his children. (So far, so good!). He is still 18 years old at heart, and looks exactly like he did in high school (although his family tells him otherwise!). Well... he says his hair is shorter now, but it's still all there! He says he guesses running keeps him young! He says Hi to you all! [March 2002 update] I got tired of working for others for 30 years and finally went into business for myself. I am the proud owner of Huch's Fine Jewelry. Found a mentor to help teach me the art of jewelry repair and then took the plunge. I should have done this years before. it's hard work but very rewarding. Still with Debbie, three kids...2 are very promising musicians (don't know where they got that talent), one dog, three cats, lots of fish. Still running nearly every day. Worked for Citizens Federal Savings and Loan for a few years and met my to be husband Cal Werner at that time. We were married in 1979 and have just celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary. I don't know where the time goes. We have no children. In the early 80's I became bored with the corporate life so I decided to join the friendly skies and began flying for United. What a change from my original lifestyle. I stayed with them for a couple years until I was to be transfered to another state which would not work out since my husband has a law practice here with his Father and other attorneys. So I went back to school for a background in Personal Training which I am currently doing. I love the flexibility of my life, giving us an opportunity to travel extensively with family and friends. LIGHT, FRED PHOTOS E-mail: Fred@FredLight.com Website: www.NashuaWebDesign.com 105 Searles Road, Nashua NH 03062-3051 PH: (603) 484-1439 I was in the furniture business [Workbench] from 1977-1985 in both the Quad Cities and Des Moines. In 1982 I began Roommate Connection in Des Moines. In 1985 I moved to Boston, where I opened several Roommate Connection offices. Moved to NYC and opened an office in Manhattan in 1989 where I lived for a year and a half. After living in Boston for 18 years, I decided to 'flee' the exhorbitant housing prices, rat race, traffic, parking, and city attitude for relative quiet and friendliness (not to mention income tax and sales tax FREE!) of New Hampshire! I'm excited to have my first garage in 25 years! (although in reality, it's only 40 minutes from downtown Boston... basically a suburb!). Must have been having my 'mid-life crisis'- I moved to a new state, bought a house, totally switched careers and started a brand new business (Nashua Web Design) pretty much on the same day! Of course, now that I have realized how crazy that idea was, I'm waiting for someone to give me my "mid-life crisis Corvette"... Still waiting ....! Now designing web sites full time, specializing in small business and real estate web sites - and most importantly, having a good time! In 2006, began dabbling in video. I am one of the first in the country doing high definition real estate video tours online, and was featured in Oct. 2007 on the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric. I'm also doing real estate Podcasts on web marketing for REALTORS® as well! (fingers in everything!) In 2003, met up here in Boston with Mike Naylor, and in 2004 with Jon Erikson, Kevin Swanwick (Scott) and Linda Lyzenga! Who needs reunions?

She has been married for 22 yrs to David, a now-retired clinical psychologist, and they have one son (James- 10), and a cat named Fireball. She received her Bachelor's in Psychology at the Univ. of California, Irvine and has a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Pepperdine Univ. She was in the process of accumulating hours toward MFCC licensure in California when they moved to Utah in '93. Since moving to Utah her life has been increasingly filled with music. She didn't sing for many years (l 7), but has been taking weekly voice lessons for the past 4 yrs. and has several voice students of her own. From Dec. '97 to the end of the school year she taught K-6 music at her son I s school as a result of a planning grant that they were able to attain. She will return to this position in the fall. She is also the music director at her church. Her father passed away in Nov. '95 of pancreatic cancer and her mother, who is 80 now, suffered two major heart attacks a year later, and so is living in a retirement community near her. The family home of 40 yrs. in Bettendorf was just sold last October. Life has been good. In addition to music, her life has taken a decidedly spiritual turn. (Actually the two go hand in hand). She returned to singing after attending her first Church of Religious Science service in which a woman returned to singing after 22 yrs., and she thought "There's hope!" If there are any other Religious Scientists in the class of '73, be sure to let me know. She is very excited to attend the 25th class reunion. It will be her first and she is looking forward to seeing everyone. She says it's hard to believe it's been 25 yrs. It seems like only yesterday! [February 2003] Since our last reunion, I got divorced, have moved twice, and remarried once! I'm currently getting my M.A. in Education as well as my elementary teaching certificate online through the University of Phoenix.I do my student teaching next fall. I guess some of us just take longer finding out what they want to be when they "grow up"!

MEDDAUGH, DAVE Deceased 85 Bunting Lane, Naperville, IL 60565-1332 PH: (630) 305-4664 I Got out of BHS feeling smart, cocky and immortal. I went to UNI in Cedar Falls rooming with Dennis T. and Jeff J. That summer I landed a great job and switched to St Ambrose the remainder of my formal education. Graduated with a degree in accounting, looked at jobs paying $14K per year or construction paying $20 per hour. I worked as a mason till the housing market crashed and then joined up with American Air Filter over in Moline. You all know the question "would you accept a transfer?" and we were all trained to say "Yes", well two months later I was transferred to Louisville Ky. The highlight of being in Louisville was meeting my current and first wife Jean at a Derby Party who had come down from Milwaukee WI. The company I worked for had their corporate office in Milwaukee so I requested and got transferred. We were married in 1982 and have shared many firsts together, first apartment, first house, first station wagon, first child. We have two children, Jennifer - 17, part time model with her picture at "www.e-visivo.com/mk/" which by the way is every dads nightmare of having your daughter on a website and Tom - 14, he was Tommy until last year, and he has been enjoying his first year in high school. I think I got ahead of myself a little bit, so I'm doing some of the books at this corporate office in Milwaukee when I notice they are going bankrupt. I jumped ship to another company and you all know the question "would traveling be agreeable with you ?" and we were all trained to say "Yes", well within a week I am on a plane at 6:00am every Monday morning and home by Friday with my territory being the United States. This company got bought out by a competitor and all administrate staff was thrown out. So at the next company I got involved in a power struggle and lost, so 'adios' to accounting. I am currently with a financial planning outfit in the Chicago area. Ask me later about the house and moving to Naperville Knock on wood and the Lord willing by the time you all see us my wife will have been cancer free for five years, so tell her she looks great, which by the way see does. A little side note, our favorite nurse during her chemo treatments turned out to be Chris Schroeder's wife Sue.

She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Audiology and Speech from Purdue University. She moved to Washington DC to attend George Washington University where she completed her graduate work. In 1977 she married Peter whom she met at Purdue and was working in Washington as an Assistant Editor for the Water Pollution Control Federation while studying for his MBA. They moved to Reston VA in 1978. She worked for Fairfax County Public Schools as a speech and language clinician for K-6th grade children at 2 elementary schools. During the 8 years she worked for the schools system, she and Peter traveled a lot (mostly the Carribbean). They also enjoy tennis, biking, and taking in the cultural sights and events in and around Washington. In 1985 their daughter Allison was born, and she resigned to be a stay at home mom, becoming very active in the community and pursuing her tennis game. When Allison entered school, she again pursued her career and worked as a part time Speech and Language Pathologist at a private clinic servicing children and adults. She has now returned to the public schools, specifically those in her local area, allowing her to be on the same schedule as Allison. She is on the board of the PTA, and also the Swim and Tennis Club, and enjoys all the musical and theatrical productions that Washington has to offer. She spends a great deal of time chauffering Allison to various lessons (horseback, piano, voice). They still travel (most recently to Atlanta for the Olympics), but also to California's Napa and Sonoma Valleys, and to Madrid, Spain on business. Peter serves as Senior VP of finance at Precision Auto Care International's home office in Virginia. She is toying with the idea of forming a Women's consortium to offer a variety of services and may possibly run for the School Board at some time in the future. She hopes we all have a great time at the reunion and says think of her at the 30th! April 9, 2002: I can't believe that time has flown by so fast. I am still living in Reston, VA (outside Washington, D.C.) Peter and I are getting ready to celebrate our 25th anniversary - seems like yesterday. Our daughter, Allison, is in the process of selecting colleges to apply to next year. How she became a Junior so fast, I'll never know. Working part-time in our high school guidance office and volunteering in the career center keeps me in touch with what it is like to be a high school students and rekindles many fond memories of our days at BHS. [Apri 2003] Can't believe the reunion is the weekend of the June 14th - that is the same weekend as my daughter's high school graduation. Guess I won't be making it again...will definitely be thinking of everyone. Have a great reunion and take lots of pictures.

She has catered enchiladas, done a little volunteer work at Oak Glen Nursing Home, worked on PTA at the elementary school, and is presently a student at Western Illinois Univ, majoring in Manufacturing Engineering Technology with a minor in Business Management. She is a junior and glad to say that most of her prerequisites were completed at BlackHawk College. The next term she will be taking Machine Processing, Business Law, and one additional business course. She also is taking an aerobics-swimming course when time permits at Blackhawk College. Last term she was able to fulfill a dream of hers, which was a 4.0 grade average. She had 14 credit hours, and now will probably have to try really hard to maintain that grade point. Since spring, their time has been consumed with softball and baseball. After the Ist of August they may be able to finally breathe a sigh of relief. She has lost both parents and has found out how important they were to her. It is those times when I would talk to them or give them a hug or on special occasions, such as Mother's & Father's Day that she thinks of them the most. She is still an Iowan at heart even though she lives in Illinois. One day she would like to live in the country and have a large garden, along with chickens & horses. She says: "Of course after receiving my Bachelor's Degree she may not have time for a large garden, chickens, or horses!"

NOWACHEK, ROBIN (BENJAMIN) PHOTOS Send me an Instant Message E-Mail: robintrav@aol.com 3156 Paradise Acres, Birmingham AL 35244 (205) 987-7280 Robin and Fred have been married for 9 years. They have two healthy, beautiful sons (Elisha-8, Isaaac-5). Six years ago they started their own travel agency (International Tours). They have had the good fortune to expand with the purchase of another agency this past September. They travel when they can, but mostly hang out around the house. Being very happy and satisified with her life would be what she would report as her greatest accomplishment. [April 2003] I will not be able to be at the Reunion as we are in the middle of getting ready for my son, Elisha's bar mitzvah! It has been a hard year for us financially. We had a fire at our business last June 4 and decided just to shut everything down. This was the 2nd fire we had had in 2 years and Fred had also been held up at gunpoint. It was just the right thing to do at the time. Fred is selling cars for one of the local Buick dealers and I'm doing the books at the Orthodox synagogue here in town. It's been tough, but at least I don't worry about Fred getting robbed. We are celebrating 14 years of marriage May 28. Our 2 sons, Elisha and Isaac, keep us busy. Elisha is in the 7th grade at the Alabama School of Fine Arts. His discipline is music and his instrument is the flute. Isaac is in the 4th grade at the Jewish Day School and plays trumpet. They are great kids and we are proud they are ours. We are also in the process of trying to get my mom to move down here. She's not in horrible health, but she does need some extra assistance with day-to-day things and definitely needs someone to be her advocate with doctors. My sister, Alicia, also lives here with her family, so with some luck, we will haul her down to the Deep South. I hope all of you are well and I'll be thinking about you. [November 2003] This is a new address for anybody that's interested. Fred and I just celebrated the bar mitzvah of our son, Elisha, and moved the following week to one of the burbs outside of Birmingham proper. We live on a lake and are still just moments from retail heaven. Elisha is now an 8th grader at the Alabama School of Fine Arts and Isaac is a 5th grader at the NE Miles Jewish Day School. OLSON, SUSIE (JOHNSON) E-Mail: sokkerbabe10@attbi.com PHOTOS 15398 Shadow Creek Road, Maple Grove MN 55311 PH: (763) 494-8321 I've had 25 years of lots of blessings to count. Upon graduating from UNI she began teaching kindergarten and still does to this day. She still enjoys the little ones, and has four of her own (Alex & Taylor (both 14), Bejay (12) and Lake (10)). There are 10,001 lakes in Minnesota now! Life is good and I still know it's the little things that count!

[April 2003] I'm so terribly sorry I won't be there!
I loved the other reunions, and really do care!
But the weekend is special to me and my beau!
we'll have been married 18 year, and still love him so!
We have 4 beautiful girls who give us many joys,
They're busy with school, music, sports AND they've discovered boys!(Yikes)
I still teach Kindergarten, each day filled with wiggles
The "little things in life" still make me giggle!
Enjoy your time together, and put on "happy face smiles"
Next time, I hope, I can travel the many miles
Thanks to all who put the reunion together! Your halos are shining!

Many of their trips help Carmen with her teaching job. Carmen has just completed her 20th year as an elementary teacher in Waterloo. This summer she is finishing her Master's program in Middle School education. She will celelbrate the end to this busy task in August. She and John have recently moved to their new home in the country where they hope to enjoy nature and celebrate with spectacular sunsets together! With all this going on she is not sure what July will bring. They may try to make it down to Roger's on Friday night if time allows, so watch for them. [June 2003] Where has the time gone? I have been teaching for twenty five years in Waterloo, working with students in grades 3 and 4. I teach most everything, and we have a lot of fun. My job keeps me very busy during the schhool year. My husband, John, and I live in the country, now. I absolutely love it! We spend a lot of time outside, taking care of our flower gardens, and our vegetable garden. We enjoy bike riding, camping, and canoeing, and love spending time with family and friends. We are both well, and happy. When I think about my high school friends, it is my hope that people experience happiness and good health. May you continue to have many fun adventures!

POPPE, MARK PHOTOS 15215 90th Avenue, Davenport IA 52804. PH: (563) 381-3432 Kids: Kara (10) & Steven (7) My family and I live on a rural acreage west of Davenport not too far from West Lake Park. Our home is on the farm where my wife was born and raised. Previously, I lived in Bellevue and Blue Grass, IA. Upon graduation from BHS, I was a clerk at the former Geifman Foods. I enjoyed that job for a year or so. Then I moved on to a production job at John Deer in East Moline. After a series of lay-offs that job became history. During my years at John Deere, I had engaged in some part-time farming at my parent's farm in Davenport. When the local job market was especially discouraging during the early 1980's, I farmed full time for a few years at Bellevue. In 1985 everything I had ever earned and worked for dissolved away in the Midwestern farm financial crisis. At the same time, the dreaded 30th birthday arrived. It was impossible to see any future in the landscape of Iowa. My
younger brother, David, was living in Alaska so I went to visit and found some construction work that lasted a few months. The sense of gloom enveloped me there, too, when it rained everyday. I decided to head back to Iowa. I visited Matt Craddock in Oregon and a cousin San Jose, CA, on my return trip. Six months later I started hauling interstate freight. A couple of times I quit working and enrolled in classes at Scott Community College. I always felt enriched by the classroom experience. Presently, I am an owner/operator leased to Milligan Brothers of Baxter, IA. I haul asphalt, fuel, motor oil, anhydrous ammonia, etc. In 1988, I met the woman that became my wife. We were married in July of 1991. Life has not been the same since. My wife is currently struggling to balance her family duties, college, and a part-time job. She was a travel consultant for almost 24 years. Presently, she works at Blue Grass School as a Paraeducator in the Special Education Preschool. Our daughter Kara is 10 years old, and she will be in fifth grade in the fall. She is excelling in her academics, and she wants to be involved in most every school activity offered. Her favorite hobby is shopping. Our son, Steven, is 7 years old and he will be in the first grade in the fall. He had a good first year in school. He enjoys playing Dad's Club soccer and softball. He is shy, but also a daredevil. The kids and I have spent the past two winters braving the thrills of downhill skiing at SnowStar. We keep trying to get my wife to try it, but she prefers to watch us. When time permits, we enjoy treks away from Iowa. My wife and I have been to the Bahamas twice - once for our honeymoon on board the Wind Spirit (a computerized sailing ship) and our second honeymoon at Sandals Royal Bahamian. Family vacations have been to New Jersey, New Mexico, Colorado, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Michigan and Missouri. Home improvement projects seem never ending. Of course, there is always grass to mow!! Reading is still my favorite pastime. So I look forward to reading what everyone else has been up to the last 30 years as well as seeing those I have missed at the past reunions.

RAY, ROBERT BRUCE Send me an Instant Message PHOTOS E-Mail: ray.robert@mchsi.com 3517 Riverside Dr. NE, Cedar Rapids IA 52411 PH: 319-378-3178 I and my wife are looking forward to the reunion. We missed the last reunion. A little story to share. My son has a great second grade teacher whom we had meet with on several ocassions, named Mrs. Hershner. After each parent/teacher meeting I'd walk out of there thinking, "Boy she looks familar." Recently the "Bettendorf High School Alumni Directory" was published and while scanning the alumni-by-city section I noted that a Marta Hershner, class of 73, also lives in Cedar Rapids. Quickly I turned to the H's and my jaw dropped. Mrs. Hershner is in fact Marta Sesbeau! Marta was going through the same discovery; she did not recognize "Mr. Ray". I than informed her that I could no longer call her Mrs. Hershner...and it has been Marta since. I tell ya, she has got to be one of the best teachers in Iowa! At the start, my son badly wanted her as his teacher and she has done a wonderful job of educating that little guy! She educates with creativity and with interaction of the class and parents. But why not, she is from the class of 73! (I am just glad she hasn't held it against Colin that he is the son of that squirrely little high school kid!) See ya all at the reunion! [6/2000] Elizabeth and I met while working at Rockwell Collins. After racing sailboats around Iowa for 5 years we married in 1987. We have two wonderful boys, Colin and Ian. I completed my BS at the University of Iowa in Electrical Engineering, 1979 and a Master in Business Administration at the U of I, 2000. After twenty years and a variety of technical and management positions at Rockwell Collins, I currently hold the position of Director, New Boeing Programs. In this position I am responsible for the pursuit and capture of new aircraft programs for the Air Transport Systems business group.

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner but I was out of town. I graduated from U.N.I. with a degree in Industrial Tech. I almost forgot that I was also married while going to the university to a girl named Pam.After college we moved to southeastern part of the state, around Fairfield. I went to work for a company called ACCO. While working a Acco we had our first child named Aaron. After about five years I went to work for Rockwell International automotive division, which I am still employed with them. At Rockwell we have had two more children, Amber and Adam. I am a Manufacturing Engineer at Rockwell International. Approximately 10 months ago Rockwell spun us off and now the company is called Meritor Automotive, still pretty much the same company, just a different name. I enjoy hunting, fishing, golf ( not good at it ) and traveling. At the ages that our kids are at I do not have the time to do much of anything that I would consider a hobby, but in the future I will. Our family has hosted a number of foreign exchange students in the last 7 years, which we enjoy very much. On Aug. 14 we will be meeting our next exchange student from Germany. Well thats it in a nut shell, looking forward to the reunion.

RILEY, CHARLENE (FRANCISCO) E-Mail:francick@argontech.net 4011 Dixon Circle, Greenville, Texas 75401 PH: (903) 454-8005 Mel Francisco and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary this past February. Our oldest daughter, Naomi (24), has been married for 2 1/2 years to Clint Jones, and they are expecting their first child in March 2001. She is a USPGA golf instructor. Our second daughter, Jill (22), a beautician, is single and lives at home (at least this is where she receives her mail and sleeps at night). Our youngest daughter, Mindy (16), is a Junior at Greenville High. She is very active in our church youth activities, several clubs at school, the PALS program, and theatre. Mel is a supervisor at GATX Logistics (they store parts for CASE tractors). I am a Case Aide for Child Protective Services for the State of Texas. For fun, I help with our church youth group's ministry. I tried to find out about our 25 year reunion when I had to put in for my vacation that year, and no one seemed to know anything that early. Mel's 25 year reunion (Pleasant Valley's) happened to be the weekend before ours and we had received all of his information by the time I needed to make plans. Oh, well! Hopefully, we will be able to make it for the 30 year reunion. I have a much more flexible job that allows me to take off anytime I need to. I would love hearing from anyone. It has been a long time since I have ran into anyone from Bettendorf. We just don't get up there very often. My parents have moved to Missouri and Mel's parents are both deceased. He still has a brother and sister that live in the area though. In fact, Mel's sister, Twila Belk, is very good friends with Sarah Plumb.[April 29, 2002] Mel and I are still married. My oldest daughter, Naomi, is now almost 26, is still married, has a one-year-old little girl, and is expecting their second child in September. They purchased a house across the street from us last November. Jill is now 23, is still single, but steadily dating a Dallas police officer, is still a beautician, and purchased her own home this last November also. And Mindy is now 18, graduated in December from Greenville High School and will walk with her class in May. She has been attending TX A&M University since January and will start her sophomore year in September at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, OK. She is traveling to Germany with some friends in July. Mindy leads a very active life! Mel is still employed as a supervisor at APL Logistics (warehouse for Case tractor parts). As for me, I am still employed by the State of Texas for Child Protective Services. It is a very challenging job (to say the least). I'm hoping we can make it for the 30th reunion. See you then!

At 40, with my children at self sufficient ages, she has decided to pursue some dreams that she has put on hold. In the past two years, she did the LA Marathon, hiked Half Dome in Yosemite National Park (18 miles round trip), sang in a 1000 voice choir at Disneyland and bungee jumped! Her favorite pasttimes are spending time with her children (which usually includes a houseful of teenagers) and sitting on her patio watching the sunset with a glass of wine and some good friends. She says life has not always been easy, but the journey has been fun. [March 2003] It's been a wonderful five years since the last reunion. I now have two kids in college at Long Beach State - Joey (20) and Sarah (19). Rebecca (16) my youngest is a very active junior in high school. I work in sales for a produce company as my job, but my main focus the past years has been in the lives of teenages. I am on the volunteer staff at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove and spend most of my spare time mentoring high school girls in the youth group there. The girls in my group are mainly from urban areas and come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds so the challenge has been to give them hope in a tough world. Their lives are a lot different from what we experienced at Bettendorf High, but their emotions are much the same. The joy I get from seeing moments of victory in their lives and the lives of my own teenagers is truly what makes my life complete.

SMITH, PENNY (STEEN) E-Mail: SteenPenniL@johndeere.com 219 South Kensington Street, Bettendorf IA 52722 PH: (563) 344-9229 Decades... ouch hurts! Lets see......After several years of full time mothering I went to work Oscar Mayer /Kraft Foods. During the 15 years I was employed at Oscars I attended college and completed a BA degree in Computer Network Administration from the St. Ambrose University ACCEL program, graduating in May of 1999. I started working for John Deere Information Systems (JDIS) in July of '99. Currently, I work as a Customer Sales Manager for computer hardware and JDIS services. I get the opportunity to talk with lots of great John Deere dealers in the western US and Canada. I returned to Ambrose the fall of 2001 and completed my Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership (MOL) in May of 2003. Hallelujah!! In 1995, I married Michael Steen blending together 2 families of children. You know, kind of a Brady Bunch sort of thing. I have 3 sons and Michael has 2 daughters. Shawn (32) is my oldest son. He lives in the Quad Cities and works for Von Hoffman printing. He is a single parent with 2 children. His oldest son, Christian is 8 and daughter Mackenzie is 5 years old. Both children attend Riverdale Heights Elementary School. My middle son Ryan (26) lives in Portland, Oregon. He manages a store for Zumiez, a company that sells skateboard/snowboard equipment and clothing. He loves his job as it fits his lifestyle and personality to a T. He and his girlfriend Jamie love living in Oregon. Since he is still a mama's boy (thank God) he tries to make it home a couple times per year. My youngest son, Benjamin (24) lives in Moline and works for FEDEX. He loves music and DJs for KALA, St. Ambrose Radio station a few hours per week. Daughter Jessica (27) lives in Davenport and works for Great Plains Locating Service (GPLS). She is a single parent with a 6-year-old daughter, Mikayla, who is the apple of her grandfather's eye. Mikayla looks just like Jessica and Maegan did when they were little. Youngest daughter, Maegan (20) lives in Davenport. She is still trying to find her "niche" in the real world. Michael and I own and/or manage about 100 rental apartments and houses. Mike is the current President of the Quad City Rental Property Association. If this doesn't keep him busy enough he also works for a building contractor doing room additions, decks and interior remodeling jobs. Now if that isn't enough, we also own and operate"Terror in the Woods" Haunted House and Frightful Forest. What started out to be a little party for our friends has turned into a major Halloween Extravaganza. Most people think that Haunted Houses are strictly an event in October, this is not true in our case. The designing, planning and building is a year round process that starts early in March when we make our yearly trek to Chicago to attend the Transworld Haunted House vendor show. We thoroughly enjoy scaring the b-geebers out of people and go to great lengths to keep the show interesting. If you haven't made it out to Terror in the Woods in the past, make plans to do so in October 2004. For more into log on to our website http://terrorinthewoods.com

I had my name legally changed from Swanwick to Scott when I joined the Screen Actors Guild and Actors Equity in 1976. My partner and I were an adaio dance team on tour and in Las Vegas (plus 1 Showtime Network special) until I realized I could make more money and work less as a singer. While I was singing in Hello, Hollywood, Hello in Reno I went back to college and got my B.S. in Finance in 1985 and then to Notre Dame to get my MBA in Marketing in 1987. I then spent a number of years as an associate producer for various Las Vegas shows until I got tired of working for other people and started Party Gras Balloons which I've had since 1998. I still do extra work in films when they shoot in Las Vegas. (one of the perks of owning my own business). Jack, my life partner of 18 years, is with Cirque du Soliel here in Las Vegas. VIALL, MIKE PHOTOS E-mail: mikev@cruzio.com 5420 Baffy Court, Soquel CA 95073 PH: (831) 479-9388 Mike attended Grad School at the University of Iowa (English, Business, Writers Workshops) until the age of 28, then rejoined his family in California, and began a sales career in computers and computer networking. He lives near Santa Cruz (a surfing mecca and well known hangout for hippies). He says he has one exceptional son! He works for Sarcom, a network integrator in San Jose (Silcone Valley). His accomplishments are 1) his son ( a beautiful boy, and a prodigy), 2) his marriage - it's had it's moments of greatness, though he is single now, 3) his success in business (almost a millionaire!) 4) being a decent guitar player, a 5) finally escaped Iowa City! He spends his spare time on the Internet, playing music, working out, dating and reading. Update 1/31-00--I had a great time at the reunion! You know, people from Iowa really *are* different--more sincere, I think. In any case, in 2000 I took a job at an Internet startup (eCongo.com) and am now Director of Sales and having a terrific time selling our e-commerce webstore application to Directors, VPs, CEO's, and other assorted weenies. Year 2000 also saw my net worth get whacked beyond all recognition as God took vengeance (rightfully so) on all those who bragged about their technology investments in 1999. Last year also saw my son enter kindergarten--what an unbelievable thing! He's an intelligent, beautiful, and TALL boy, projected to be 6'8" when he's an adult. BTW, if anyone is in CA and wants to drop by please do!!!

As you know I left BHS after my junior year. I moved to a hick town in MO, called Waynesville , and since 1979 have been living in the world's most exciting and beautiful city of San Francisco. So many of us look a little different - less hair a few pounds and believe me I fit right in hee'hee. I travel alot, read, and as you can tell I just got online within the last 2 months - Hell just look at my typing..... maybe 2008 might be in my future plans... Take care! Bradley Scott Moore

WELLS, Todd E-Mail: tfwteam1@pacbell.net 480 Tenth Ave. San Francisco, CA 94118 PH: 415-559-9940 Been working late tonight at my "warehouse" (by day) / "studio" (by night) trying to get set up for the East Bay (it's across the bridge in Oakland) Artist Open Studios, in which I am participating, starting this weekend and ending next weekend. I was just checking out the bhs...73 web page, as I do occasionally, and really enjoyed the bunch of new photos from last years' reunion.....I was feeling sorry for myself (again) that I couldn't get to it, but my wife, Noelle, had her 20th (ouch) reunion (I mean, "woo hoo!") the week before in Texas, so that one overruled. I really miss so many of you from our class, and know it was my loss not to have been there. I really couldn't remember how long ago, or even if, I'd ever updated anything of my own on this website. So, "for the past few decades", I've owned and operated a small, specialty moving company, Team One, in the Bay Area, even though what I "really" was going to do when I grew up was paint, .........and get paid for it. During that time my daughter, Sarah (and, yes, it's got everything to do with the week-and-a-half Sarah Plumb** let me be her boyfriend) was born, and for the following eighteen years I painted, maybe, all of six paintings.......small ones......crappy ones. About a week after she left for Long Beach to go to college, 3 years ago, I started painting. In those past 3 years paintings just came pouring out of me, and continue to do so, like I was running out of time or something - I'd had plenty of time to think about it - and, not including some that I've sold and many more that I've given away, I have a couple hundred paintings.....small ones and big ones.....crappy ones and good ones. And the day after tomorrow (no movie reference intended) I'll be opening up my studio to the public for a couple of weekends. It's a pretty big deal, to me, because it's a specific goal that I've carried around with me forever (working as an artist, in a studio), that I'm about to open to the public, inviting them into my world, and I guess, asking for their opinions. I'm concious that it's been this long-term goal that's about be realized and, well, here I go. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to sound like a big-head, it's just a big deal to me. I was kind of resolved that due to whatever good reasons I had to justify it, I'd never get to be a painter, not even for a month.......and now I'm inviting in witnesses. My painting may not set the world on its ear (whatever that means) - cause the world to notice it, ...but it's what I do best, and I've known that for a long time. Thanks for the therapy session - I feel better. I'd welcome any feedback from anyone out there amongst you, should anyone feel so inclined. You could even include a moderate bill. (Now thats a joke - I don't mean send me some money, I meant you could send me an invoice for the therapy session I made you a part of........never mind.)

**Sophmore year, Karla King's party, playing "truth or dare" spin the bottle, you working in colusion with Mike Naylor....... that was my first, real kiss......and, damn!, it was good, even with your braces! I knew then that I was going to name something after you. To this day, I can still remember every single detail........

WHEELOCK, DONALD E-Mail: dwheel@dats.com | Homepage 784 E. Inman Road, Inkom, Idaho 83245 PH: (208) 775-4486 I spent two tours in the Marine Corps attaining the rank of SSGT (E6). I owned a rare Shelby GT500KR convertible - took me five years to total it. While stationed in San Diego, I lived on a sailboat anchored in the bay. Married my first wife there ... and I'm still married to my first wife. We've had three sons, two have left the nest, and one is still under our control ... who are we fooling? After the Marine Corps, I Worked 16 years in Houston in banking, being promoted to AVP (Data Base Administrator) of the largest bank in Texas before it was bought out by an even larger New York bank. Church, the Boy Scouts, and sailing in Galveston Bay swallowed up most of my "free" time. We moved the family to Idaho in '97 (check the atlas it's in the U.S.), and built a home in a canyon leading to the National Forest. Played (mostly horizontally for 18 months) ... now I'm back to work programming, and probably will be for life (Idaho doesn't pay as well as Houston). *sigh* At least we got our moose and deer and none of the traffic. Other than being older, bearded, overweight, with thinning hair with a touch of grey, I am exactly as I was back in high school.

[2003] Recently divorced with two lovely children Conlon (age 10) and Anna (age 7). I am finally out of the restaurant business and into the country club business. I still enjoy sailing, snow skiing, scuba and traveling. Over the last five years I have gotten interested in mountain climbing. I have summited Kilimanjaro in Africa, Elbrus in Russia, Elbert, Hood and Rainier in the U.S. Only three months ago I climbed Aconcagua in South America, and got stranded at almost 23,000 ft. as a blizzard moved in. I spent the night and awoke with severe frostbite. I am still recovering from my injuries. I am fairly sure that I was the first Iowan to solo that mountain. Not bad for an old guy! I have been blessed with good fortune, family, and health. I hope for the same for all of you other old guys. Don't think I can attend but wishing you all the very best. Respectfully, Greg

I am the manager of Supplier Development for the Worldwide Agricultural division. I have a 10 year old son. I am single. Still very active in out door sports, liesure activities. After graduating from SIU with a bachelor;s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, I ended up out in San Diego Ca. working for Boeing in their missiles division. Never did learn to surf all that well so eventually I moved back to the Midwest to work for General Electric's automotive group. GE launched an aggressive plan to outsource many product lines to Eastern Europe immediately after the fall of the iron curtain. Since I was in the supplier development business I found myself trying to learn several dialects of Russian while navigating the underdeveloped Soviet highways. It was weird. As fate would have it several years ago I was recruited by Deere and Co. to oversee their Worldwide Agricultural Supplier Development group. Once again I found myself in the midst of a new frontier & this time it was China --- a whole new level of weird. Slowly over time I have learned to delegate ---- hopefully it will keep me closer to home in the years to come. I have a 10 year old son (Patrick) we share many of the same interests (unfortunately he actually enjoys traveling) This past 30 years has gone by in the blink of an eye.

I have lived in Kansas City since 1982, after spending ten years in Texas, going to Baylor(BBA, MBA) and working in Houston as a banker. I moved back to KC and worked in commercial real estate management, starting my own business, Yaws Company, LC, in 1992. We primarily acquire distressed commercial real estate and rehabilitate it for holding longer term. We also do fee management for lenders and investment partnerships. In 1987 Janet and I married. She has a 19 year old son who is a freshman at the University of Kansas. We just went to see his first rental house this week! Remember those days? I have been travelling a lot the last few years. We just returned from the Dominican Republic in March, my 4th trip. Mostly, I do mission work there constructing a hospital and doing medical clinics for the poor Hatian sugar cane cutters and their families. Sailing has become a favorite pasttime also. I crewed on a racing yacht last summer, including the Chicago-Mackinac race. We have also sailed the British Virgins, Catalina Island off Southern California, and the San Juans north of Seattle. But, I can be very content in a dingy at a neighborhood lake. For the past three years I've served on the Board of The Institute for Ecumenical and Cultural Research at St. Johns University in St. Cloud. This is an adjunct organization to a Benedictine Monestary, and it encourages scholars to spend their sabbaticals at the University doing research and writing on ecumenical issues. My other favorite thing is BMW's. I have an M5 that goes over 160 miles per hour! This summer's agenda includes racing school so I can find out how! My wife and I had a great time at the 20th reunion and we are really looking forward to seeing everyone at this 25th. [Update 1/1/2001]: Our most recent news is a June, 2000 move to the San Diego area. We have family in San Diego, and after several visits, decided to plan a move from Kansas City. It took two years, but we made it, and the weather is great. The last couple of decades have been spent in the real estate management business, sailing, and doing volunteer work in the inner city and in the Dominican Republic. [October 2007] Mostly retired now and racing Porsches with the San Diego Porsche Club. I also teach performance driving and manage driving events. Best regards to you all.
